The Hare And The Tortoise- Srory

Tipu SirTitle: Slow and steady wins the race.

Long time ago there lived a hare in a forest. He was always proud of his speed. A tortoise also lived near by. Oneday the hare met the tortoise. She made fun of the slow speed of the tortoise and said, “You have as many legs as i have but i am sure you can not run as fast as i can”. Most probably  you can not run at all. The tortoise became very angry. He answered quietly, “You can run quite fast no doubt, but i think you can talk faster than you can run”. Then the tortoise made a proposal to run a race with the hare. The hare gladly accepted his proposal. So he said, “Come along, let’s fix a date for the race”. They fixed a date. However they both went to a fox and asked him to be the judge of their contest. The fox agreed. Others animals of the forest were also invited. On the fix day they met a cross road. The judge read out some rules to be followed by both of them. The destination of the race was also marked. The tortoise and the hare came to the starting point. The race began. The hare began to run very top speed and fast. He jumped and jumped. She ran half of the distance and looked back. He found no sing of the tortoise. The hare smiled and said to him self, “Why should I run so fast in the hot sun with the slow speed tortoise?”. I will start again when the tortoise will catch me and before that I can take rest for a while. The hare took the rest in a bush and at one time she fell a sleep. In the mean time the tortoise walked on and on. He didn't stop anywhere. When he came to bush. He saw the lazy hare laying fast asleep. He smiled and quietly passed by the hare. After some time the hare wake up. She saw that it was already evening. She immediately got on her feet.  She began to run very fast. But alas| the tortoise had already gone far. She came in sight of the goal. But the tortoise was already crossing the winning post. The hare had no way to defeat the tortoise and she failed. Winning the race the tortoise became very happy and hare felt very ashamed of her tall talk. She now said to herself, “It is true that slow and steady wins the race”. From this story we learned that though anyone is slow or weak but he can succeed by dint of his steady. On the contrary anyone who is very speed and strong he will fail without steady.                                                                                                                                                                                                    Prepared by

Sheikh Saadi Story

For H.S.C 2nd Year

                                                            Sheikh Saadi
Title: Dress Doesn't Make One Great.

Once there was a famous poet named sheikh saadi in Iran. He used to lead a very simple life. Once he was invited by the king of Iran. On his way to the court of king the Iran, he took shelter in a noble man's house for a night. He was then in very simple dressed. The servants of that house treated him for an ordinary man. They didn't care for his comport at all. They gave him very simple food. Saadi felt very sad. But did not tell anything to any body and somehow  passed the night. In the morning, he started for the court. He reached the court and stayed there for some days.

On his way back to home, he again took shelter in that noble man's house. This time he was in gorgeous clothes. The nobleman took him to be an elite one as he noticed him in gorgeous dress. He welcomed him very cordially and showed him much respect. After some time, the servants came with rich food for him. Saadi understood the reason why he was treated so nicely. So he decided to teach a good lesson. When they sat down for eating, a strange thing happened. Instead of eating to delicious foods he began to put them into his pockets. The nobleman and his servants were surprised showing this. The nobleman asked politely, “what are you doing, sir?” Saadi replied, “I am doing the right thing. Some days ago when I came to your house in a normal dress. Nobody cared for my comfort. Now I am in gorgeous dress and all of you are showing respect to me and serving rich food. I think, I am not deserved this rich food, it is appropriate only my dress. So, I am putting this food into my pockets. “Hearing this, the nobleman understood his fault. He was very much ashamed and begged pardon to saadi. Then Sheikh saadi realized the mistake of the nobleman and he forgave him.
From this story we have learned that “Dress does not make one great.  Dress only increases our external beauty of our body. We have also learned from this story, all that glitters is not Gold.
